I don’t profess to know a whole lot about the history of the Samurai (or the Tom Cruise movie you’re referencing here), but this does not seem like an apt comparison.

And of course, if you’re going to write/create something about some faraway country whose culture you know nothing about then there’s only one thing you should remember: Use Papyrus!

It’s about bravery. The men that are working on Fukushima are pretty comparable to the Samuri because of the way they have acted. Last time at three-mile island alot of the workers died within months from radiation exposure, but the Japanese workers are still going in regardless. It’s a tribute and comparison to the bravery of the samurai, that obviously still exists in Japan today.

Get some perspective before you rip on someones artistic expression. Just because YOU can’t see it, does not mean it’s not there.
